Finally, a layer of&nbsp;<strong>melted milk or dark chocolate<\/strong>&nbsp;is poured over the cooled caramel, setting into a silky finish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-799a8d33-cec7-4c6d-a861-6743e6e8ee1e\">Each bite is a perfect mix of&nbsp;<strong>chewy, sweet, and chocolatey<\/strong>\u2014an easy, indulgent treat that\u2019s perfect with a cup of tea or as a homemade gift.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-45f3011b-2c87-4d7d-a72c-bc73b26fb580\">Ingredients<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-e372e570-c720-4b01-b9c9-81d2bed0cf91\">Flapjack<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul id=\"block-7ea3657b-ec5a-4d0d-b681-3aa5559b0ba2\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>175&nbsp;g&nbsp;Unsalted Butter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>125&nbsp;g&nbsp;Light Brown Sugar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>125&nbsp;g&nbsp;Golden Syrup\/Honey<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>325&nbsp;g&nbsp;Rolled Oats&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-cc2994e7-7e7e-43af-bfd5-53cce755e451\">Caramel<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul id=\"block-05c75eef-2401-4804-9bad-c6edd20b02cc\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>175&nbsp;g&nbsp;Unsalted Butter<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>175&nbsp;g&nbsp;Light Brown Sugar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 tbsp golden syrup<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>397&nbsp;g&nbsp;Condensed Milk&nbsp;(one tin)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-1c30d9e7-27b4-47c2-ad23-2a1161d9798f\">Topping<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul id=\"block-fb7ccf72-910c-4cab-a897-f1dc61e86e2b\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>200&nbsp;g&nbsp;Milk Chocolate<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>100&nbsp;g&nbsp;White Chocolate<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-77df3c16-7e92-4c78-b0cc-ce8cdeb5aeb6\">Method<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul id=\"block-91964915-370f-4585-a822-678b70c8b306\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Preheat your oven to 180C\/160C Fan.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Line a 9x9inch deep square tin with baking paper.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In a medium pan, put the Butter, Sugar and Syrup\/Honey and melt on a low heat till smooth.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In a large bowl, pour the Rolled Oats and pour on the melted sugar\/syrup\/butter mixture and mix together.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Firmly press the mixture into the bottom of tin and bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes until starting to brown around the edges!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-2a024650-b4f9-4e15-8a9b-164a7a92f5ed\">Place the butter, soft brown sugar and syrup in a saucepan on a medium heat, stir occasionally until the butter has melted and the mixture comes to a simmer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-d46f2c05-2db0-4052-89ea-3c1cb726d342\">Add the condensed milk and keep cooking and stiring for a further 4-5minutes until large bubbles start appearing. Cook for a further minute and then take off the heat and pour onto the base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-b52e8c9a-a9be-4962-a040-34c7bc5b5201\">Bake the base with the caramel topping for a further 10-12 minutes until the caramel is golden. This is where the delicious fudgy texture comes in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-9dce3122-7db7-4b86-b525-f2323cd7abf4\">Take out of the oven and allow to cool for 30 minutes, then refrigerate for a further 30 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-3239dd87-e01c-4bd5-8388-3b4c66419e1a\">Once the base and topping have cooled, melt the chocolate in a microwave ( try heating for bursts of 30 seconds until melted. Then pour the chocolate topping over.
